Makoto: I'm really sorry, Isara-kun. We ended up having to undertake some useless job.
Mao: No, there's no way that it was useless. We were able to safely meet up with that Game Club senpai who had dropped out of school to begin work at a game company, you know.
Unexpectedly, the company was pretty nearby, so just by going back and forth a bit on the trains we finished it up.
We didn't even make an appointment; despite that, we were still welcomed.
For the most part, it looked like the games and stuff in the Game Club's room were his belongings anyway.
Because he had no interest in them anymore, just dispose of them as you see fit~ was what he said as he gave us permission.
All the active members seemed to be his acquaintances... You got them to give you his contact info and all that.
And next, get in contact with each and every one to negotiate with them.
If you're somehow able to get the other club members to return and do their activities properly~ and prove it, you'll be able to slip through the disbanding.
Well, probably. On my side, I'll report as such to the Student Council.
The rest is up to you. I can't help you any further than this, so sorry 'bout that.
Makoto: Not at all. Isara-kun had absolutely no relationship with the Game Club, but for you to push yourself to this extent... In fact, I'm quite thankful. Thank you so much.
Speaking of which. Sorry, for saying things making you out to be an enemy who came to crush the Game Club.
I even shoved blame on you one-sidedly, saying "I thought you were a kind person" and everything else.
Isara-kun, you should be in a trying position too. I understand that. Even despite that, I said stuff that made you seem like a bad person.
Mao: Nope, nope. I only act like I'm a good person who can gloss things over, but in actuality I'm just some kinda assassin from the Student Council, came to destroy the Game Club.
If I seriously meant to save the Game Club, I could do more. I could join the Game Club, acting hostile against the Student Council or something...
Despite that, I'm not going to do that.
Without constructing a real stance with anyone, distributing feelings of good intentions and acting as a good person... I'm someone who just tries to show his good side to everyone, only suited to moving in all directions.
I've always been like this, you know. Afraid of being hated by others, I don't want to stir up any waves.
Even if I'm seen as ill-meaning, disliked, or unusable, I just don't want to be discarded.
Wh-, what am I even saying right now... I must've gotten tired from getting engrossed in working today too.
Makoto: Fufu. But really, I do understand how that feels. It's frightening to be hated, isn't it. To be useful to someone, to be acknowledged, to be complimented, those things make you happy.
To the point where you imagine that's actually what you were born for.
But, by always asking for others' words of praise or approval... That way, you'll forget your "true self".
Once you notice it, that "true self" that you've ignored this whole time will have become dirtied, covered with wounds.
Ah... Well, that was how it was for me, but Isara-kun, you're probably all right, though.
Mao: Yeah, uh, on what grounds are you saying "all right". You've made me kinda worried, you know~; don't just make some mystery with a deep meaning.
Well, anyways. We're just about finally able to go home together, so is that good with you?
It seems our homes are in the same direction, right? As long as we're going this way, you wanna grab dinner around here?
Makoto: A-ah, I'm glad for the invitation, but... I'm on dinner duty today, so I'd prefer to get home soon.
I only have my mom, so we take turns doing the domestic tasks.
Mao: Heh, how nice. My house just leaves things as it is~, so I haven't eaten together with my family in a while.
I'm always getting the wrapped-up leftovers, popping them in the microwave, and somehow managing to eat.
Makoto: Ahaha. Isara-kun, you're just like some businessman who has to work non-stop.
Mao: What'd you say, you bastard? ...In all truth, I wanted to do more youth-like things, but before I noticed, my life got to this point.
Some way or another, it's always me who's gotten bad luck.
