Tsukino Natsuyume Matsuri (月野夏夢祭)

English translation:

The moon has waxed, informing of the festival

The darkness sways, and the hidden world appears

When the lights of the festival illuminate the night,

The unseen path continues as far as we can see

Sharing happiness with one another, we shed tears when we feel sorrow

Feeling satisfied with loveliness, we accept even bitterness

Peacefully feeling sympathy, if we think as we are, without boundaries

We need not restrain ourselves nor hesitate:

The Black and White Celestial Foxes, making their appearance

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

Strike the taiko drums and ring them out

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

The sounds of flutes ring out refreshingly

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

The ayakashi join the circle as well

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

It resounds in the Tsukino shrine grove, in this single night of a dream

Beyond the trees, the will-o-the-wisps sway back and forth

Come here, come here, allow yourself to be invited just for today

If you entrust your heart to the festival’s sounds

The unseen creatures will show themselves

O happiness, bloom flowers, use even tears as your nourishment

Learn of love and grant love, conveying even rage to one another

While smiling merrily, embrace even laments

We need not restrain ourselves nor hesitate:

The Black and White Celestial Foxes head forth

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

Tonight is a party with no holds barred

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

The sounds of bells clearly ring out

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

Being intoxicated by the festival mood

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

The festival is at its peak, in a trance between dream and reality

The moon reflects the otherworld like a mirror as the Celestial Foxes dance about

O transient world, be plentiful, and exorcise filth to become pure once more

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

Strike the taiko drums and ring them out

Chant! Sing! Chant! Dance!

It resounds in the Tsukino shrine grove, in this single night of a dream

Kanji:
