Sora: *pants* We did it… We really did it!

Ren: Yes, we really did! *pants*

Morihito: That felt good!

Soushi: Good work, Mori. Well, that was a pretty nice job for our first show, huh?

Nozomu: Wait, senpai, that’s the thing you say after hearing these cheers? I think that’d be a huge success no matter what! Nice!

Sora: *laughs* Thank you, everyone! Seriously, thank you so much! This is my— our song!

[Cheering swells and fades]

[Footsteps]

Sora: Wahhh, it’s over.

Morihito: Nice work, everyone.

Sora: Hahhh, that felt good!

Ren: *breathes* That was an amazing live. It’s been a while since I’ve had this much fun.

Soushi: You got that right. Practice was pretty hard, but it was fun. Kind of a regret that all of it will end today, and that’ll be that.

Morihito: Yeah. It’s a little… lonely, isn’t it?

Nozomu: It sure is.

Sora: Hm. Well then, everyone. Since we’re here already, why don’t we audition?

Everyone except Sora: Huh?

Ren: A-audition, that’s…

Nozomu: Eh, you mean that thing with singing in front of a bunch of judges?

Sora: What? That’s the only thing that comes to mind with the word “audition,” isn’t it?

Soushi: Stop— Wait, wait a second, Sora. You’re jumping ahead by yourself again. What are you talking about?

Sora: Well, you see, you know how I was called out by the upperclassmen just then? They really complimented me a lot! And while they were at it, they told me this… Ta-dah! [Triumphant fanfare plays] *unfolds paper*

Ren: Tsukino Talent Productions, newcomer auditions… Tsukino Music Grand Prix 2015?

Sora: Yes, indeed! That huge talent company that Gravi and Procella are affiliated with. Tsukino Talent Productions is holding it itself: an audition geared toward artists! See? See, look! Pros, or amateurs, experience, with or without, even if it’s a band or just singing, anything’s OK as long as we sing original songs! It really is geared toward us! And, to think, tomorrow is the last date to sign up for this audition. Hey, don’t you guys want to challenge it?

Morihito: Um, Sora, before we decide whether or not we want to try it, this pace is too quick, so I can’t really follow…

Soushi: You know, we’re just a temporary band. Isn’t this way too soon?

Sora: Being too soon or too late has nothing to do with it! Who cares if we’re temporary or not? We can just put that on our resume regardless, right? *sparkles*

Nozomu: Yeah, I guess. Ooh? Audition, huh…

Ren: Ah… Nozomu’s eyes are sparkling now. *sighs* Looks like Sora-senpai’s special skill, “For the time being, let’s jump!” has appeared…

Sora: *laughs* I guess! Jump! Jump! You could say I’m not thinking this through, but I think it’s important that we challenge something with enough energy that lets us at least jump with a yell! Just thinking about this and that will just end up wasting our chance!

Morihito: Geez…

Sora: You don’t know if you don’t try. Also, I don’t want how much we had fun and got so excited to go to a waste and end like that! I want to do even more and more music with everyone!

Soushi: Sora…

Sora: We’ve gotten this far as to form the band already, so let’s do something huge to challenge ourselves with!

Morihito: You’re right. We started this, anyways. Yeah, I agree with Sora.

Soushi: Morihito! You’re too soft on Sora again.

Morihito: Soushi, you said that it was a regret, right? Everyone here must be thinking that it would be a waste. So let’s keep going for a little while longer. Even if it’s just that one goal, if we audition, it’ll get us more motivated than if we were to just continue.

Sora: Sou, it’s the same as when we started the band. “Don’t think about it too deeply and for the time being, test it out and see if you like it,” didn’t you say that? Let’s try it— but with everything we’ve got— and do the audition the same way!

Soushi: Mm… I guess.

Nozomu: Ooh, me, here! I’m in too! I support the audition~ Why don’t we do it?

Soushi: Nozomu.

Ren: … Me too. I want Morihito-senpai and Sora-senpai’s singing to reach even more people. I support it. If a performance like that could show this much of our ability, it would be nice if we could believe in it… I suppose.

Soushi: Ren, too?

Sora: Please, Soushi!

Soushi: *sighs* I got it. I got it already. There’s no way I couldn’t accept with the way things are going like this. Well, honestly, I still want to keep going. All right, I’ll take you up on that audition.

Sora: Nice! With this, our five members are settled. The band’s continuation is settled too!

Morihito: If we’re going to keep on with the band, we need a band name.

Ren: We were the “Third Years’ Graduation Committee Band” today, after all.

Nozomu: It’s too clunky, and you don’t get a feel of who we are.

Sora: Ah, about that. I kinda got an idea that came to me, and I wanted everyone to have the same thoughts about it together when I came up with it— so I have a name.

Morihito: What kind of name? Tell us, Sora.

Sora: Eh?! Right now?

Nozomu: Here you go.

Sora: Eek… eh… ah… Don’t laugh, okay?

Soushi: Don’t trip on a hurdle that you set too high.

Sora: I-I know. We’re a band that gives off a “jumping out into the blue sky, it’s youth!” feeling, right? If we use the “blue” from “sky” in that way… Shorten it, change the letters… SOARA.¹ The five of us are the youth band SOARA— We start from here!

¹-The word for "blue" is 青, which is pronounced "ao." Furthermore, the word for "sky" is 空, which is pronounced "sora." Put together, the words are "aozora," and swapping letters around in "sora" to mesh with the "ao" leads to SOARA.
