TSUKIPRO LIVE 2018 SUMMER CARNIVAL Event Report

The four units that took part in the anime “TSUKIPRO THE ANIMATION” appeared in the live event “TSUKIPRO LIVE 2018 SUMMER CARNIVAL” on June 17 at the Fuji-Q Highland Conifer forest.

Four units associated with Tsukino Talent Productions (Tsukipro), SOARA, Growth, SolidS, and QUELL gathered at the event. As it was Tsukipro’s first outdoor live, each unit was full of enthusiasm! They delivered a stage in front of roughly 10,000 people in the audience. This is the night show’s report of the noon and night shows.

The previous days were all greeted with rain, and having the day be blessed with blue skies was truly weather for the “SUMMER CARNIVAL”. While many people were taking countermeasures against the heat, they were looking forward to the TSUKIPRO members’ appearance as well.

At the moment the event was about to start, “Are you Ready?” was shown upon the stage’s monitor, and the audience’s excitement shot up! With huge cheers, “SOARA” appeared, and Toyonaga-san’s call of “It’s started!” as a signal, the live began with “エリアル-ALIEL-“. Ono-san put on a show of air guitar, Furukawa-san played air drums, and showing the selves of SOARA as a band greatly livened up the audience.

After, “Growth” performed “Mahou no Kizuna”. Toki-san, Yamaya-san, Yamashita-san, and Terashima-san’s symphonic singing voices seemed to shower down, as if bringing a pleasant space to life. When the members fluttered their hands alongside their voices, the audience moved their bodies to match that as if being guided by a baton, drawing a scene that was playing alongside the song itself.

“Because you are” from “QUELL” was sung in front of standing mics at the beginning, the same as the PV. At the same time it reached the chorus, they took their mics off their stands, delivering their comfortable singing. Over time, as they held their mics tightly, grasping them, one could feel their hidden passion while seeing their forms singing with such emotion.

As flames burst out, “SolidS” appeared on a fiery stage. With “Burny!!!”, Eguchi-san’s flirtatious glance, Saitou-san’s blown kiss, and Hanae-san’s suave smile. The audience answered their provocative figures with great cheers as well.

After the greetings and the said unit songs were finished, all units got back on stage. They introduced the unit and members, doing movements and statements with the likenesses of each unit and member, making the audience erupt with laughter.

The most memorable was Nishiyama-san’s sudden cutting statement of “Summer’s really nice, isn’t it! It’s up to everyone to decide that this summer gets made here!” With that exciting cheer that day, he appealed to keep on firing up for the rest of the summer. He entrusted his feelings of wanting the venue to get excited and full of energy to them all.

And after that, we stopped the talking and headed into the non-stop medley! The first one up was, with Toyonaga-san’s call of “Come on, let’s start the music!” heading into “SKY DREAM”, Nishiyama-san’s “Niji”, Murata-san and Sawashiro-san’s “With U”, Yamaya-san’s “Planetaria”, Ono-san’s “Yurara”, Hanae-san’s “Lily -Yorisou yuri no you ni-“ Takeuchi-san’s “End of Night”, Nakamura-san’s “Hoshizora”, Yamashita-san’s “Amakikaze no Primula” continuing with the solo and duets being displayed.

Upon swapping out on the stage, the cast members would bump fists, do high fives, acting as if they’re swapping out batons, with Furukawa-san’s “BUZZER BEATER”, Nogami-san’s “Akaku Somaru Sora”, Saitou-san’s “Shout It Out”, Eguchi-san’s “Tide -Hikari no Sasu hou he-“, Toki-san’s “Lila no Shirabe”, Terashima-san’s “リレイズ -Reraise-“ were individually shown.

After the wave of the medley corner, “SOARA” stood on stage. Toyonaga-san and Ono-san said, “Makonyan’s (Furukawa-san) solo was so cool!” in high praise. Toyonaga-san said to the audience, imitating the song and dance, energetically appealing to the crowd, “When you’re feeling down, you should try it out too!” During “Start Line ~Boys, Be Mighty~” large rolling balls were launched into the audience with a call of “We want you to have your fill of this summer!” as if it were starting a sports festival’s ball rolling competition! When the balls broke, the balloons which launched out were also an enjoyable surprise. After that, “Mikazuki Fantasy” was a number that would abruptly pain your chest in a 180, that the audience was captivated by.

Following that, it was “Growth’s” turn. Terashima-san and Yamaya-san talked about how they were bad with roller coasters, about the outdoor live, and Terashima-san talking about how the wind would tickle him and make him laugh also excited the crowd greatly. With such an exchange of playful banter, Terashima-san’s statement of “Are you ready to travel through space and time?” signaled their performance of “Parallel Lineage”. During “CORONA”, the atmosphere of the sun setting as they sang it drew an image of an illusory scene that matched the song’s worldly view.

Starting with Hanae-san’s comment of “I want to make this a sexy time”, “SolidS” began a competition talking about which Fuji-Q attraction was the sexiest. With the sweet whispers coming from SolidS, the audience answered in great cheers. They took a commemorative photoshoot with the crowd, saying “I want to show him this scene” for Umehara-san, who was unable to participate this time. When the “SolidS” members’ sympathy touched our hearts, the entire crowd became of one being with “Back on track” and the moody adult ballad “Liar Crier”.

As for “QUELL”, Takeuchi-san’s sincere message of “Through our unit song, we’d like to convey our gratefulness towards TSUKIPRO” started off “Arigatou”. When the stage began to get dark, the audience’s penlights created a beautiful scenery, stunningly decorating the feelings put into their songs. The performance’s final song was QUELL’s passionate singing of “Aoi Mizu”, and the audience was greatly excited by spinning their towels up high along with them.

During the encore, the entire cast appeared on stage once more. During the ending address, talking about their feelings of gratitude toward the audience and staff members, the cast assembled into a circle. Nishiyama-san, who felt the energy from the live, finally said, “This year’s summer, the Heisei’s final summer, here, we…… definitely decided that we made it here!” With his “Summer’s decided declaration!” and upon deciding his feelings of greeting the rest of the summer better, the last was a passionate singing of both the cast and audience of “Dear Dreamer,”.

And finally, the time for the performance came to an end. As if having a taste of summer faster, fireworks were launched above the stage. The fireworks were solely a night-show only surprise, and the lonely mood that had drifted through the venue burst into smiles. That kind of happy production ended in smiles as it began. It truly was a tropical night, much like a carnival, that seemed to signal the beginning of summer.
