Shiki: ...We’re on an uninhabited island...

Nozomu: It sure is an uninhabited island 🍦 I was in the middle of eating my post-bath ice cream, too.

Shiki: I’m truly sorry for this.

Nozomu: Ah! It’s fine, it’s fine. (laughs)

 

Shiki: I didn’t think I’d be responded in kind... or is that the right way to put it? I didn’t think I’d be really sent here... but I lacked a proper understanding of the situation at the very moment Shun was there.

Nozomu: Ahaha. Well! If we’re here already, there’s nothing we can do about it!!

Shiki: It’s almost scary how easily you can switch your mind into a positive mindset.

Nozomu: I’ve been told that many times. Isn’t it a relief that we went to a warm place?

Shiki: Heh. I suppose so.

Shiki: ...By the way, is Izuru doing well?

Nozomu: Yes, he is! Very well! I talked with him yesterday, but he’s super busy with the year-end concert event he’s got going on.

Shiki: I’d assume so. Doesn’t he get requested to play in the backing band for some foreign big-deal artists too?

Nozomu: You know the specifics~. He said that he’ll be traveling around the country for a tour from November to February, so he’s like, buried in work.

Shiki: His sound is second to none, after all. The way he carries his fingers is precise, yet his sound has a mysteriously loose nuance to it, which makes it seductive.

Nozomu: Ooh.

 

Shiki: Meanwhile, your sound is...

Nozomu: Ooh!?

 

Shiki: Bright, positive, and full of plentiful emotion. I can see a blue sky in it. Fitting for SOARA’s bassist.

Nozomu: ...Ooh... ✨

Shiki: Sometimes, you get too on the groove that your fingers slip too.

Nozomu: You realized? (laughs)

Shiki: Of course I would. I’m also a composer, you know.

Nozomu: Ahaha.

 

Nozomu: You don’t play instruments, Shiki-san?

Shiki: I’m not very good at them.

Nozomu: You can play the piano, though?

Shiki: I’m self-taught.

And I don’t think about my expression when it comes to piano performance itself.

It’s an aspect of work that I’ve forced out in order to help me compose.

It strongly gives off that nuance, so it’s not something that I’d have people listen to alone.

Nozomu: You really... think so?

Shiki: The way I move my fingers isn’t very pretty, either.

Nozomu: No, no! That’s fine!!

Nozomu: There was a time when I heard a pretty piano sound coming from the piano room~, and when I peeked in thinking, “Is that Ren~?” It was actually Shiki-san.

Casually playing the way you want as the moonlight shines upon you... It made me think, “Aah... It’s so... pretty~ and cool~!!”
