Cast Interview from SQ Series QUELL on Drama CD: “Matchless people”

SQ QUELL’s 4th Season Drama CD Vol.2 is now finally released!! We inquired of the appearing cast about “QUELL’s” present and future.

—By now, even “QUELL” has gone through three years since it was formed. Would you like to say any parts you like about each member?

Everyone: No.

Nogami: I don’t have any part I like about any of them.

Everyone: (Laughs)

Nishiyama: This is a terrible atmosphere we have. (laughs)

Nakamura: For me, I like how we can say these types of jokes to each other. We just basically get along. Just as you see here.

Nogami: We definitely wouldn’t have had these attitudes back in 2015 when it was the debut.

Nakamura: You’re right.

Nishiyama: In a good way, we don’t have to mind each other now.

Nogami: That’s it!

Nakamura: Weren’t we like this before?

Everyone: (laughs)

Nogami: Aren’t there a lot of times when we come to the workplace and there’s no one here we work with? But after that, when we meet, there’s no need for us to attempt at this kind of attitude [with each other]. I think that’s the easiest for me.

Takeuchi: We get it naturally?

Nogami: I guess so.

Nishiyama: Before I knew it, I’ve stopped using formal language with Nogami-san.*

Nogami: (laughs)

Nishiyama: I might have been using it up until a year ago. But Nogami-san told me, “Just talk with me directly.”

Takeuchi: And age-wise?

Nogami: The two of us here (Nogami-san and Takeuchi-san) are 10 years apart, after all.

Takeuchi: He’s the only senpai I talk casually with. I even call him “Shou-chan”.

Nakamura: It’s “Shou-chan” and “Shun-chan” for you two.

—Along with a message to the fans, please tell us your feelings of heading toward the 5th [season].

Takeuchi: I hope we’ll be able to deliver a brand new side of “QUELL” from now on to everyone as you watch over their development. We’ve experienced all sorts of challenges and overcome them up until now, and in the future will be able to continue walking alongside [the characters]. That major premise of “TSUKIPRO” is what I like about it, and in order to share that feeling with everyone, I’ll work hard to let more people get to know about and learn to love the things associated with “TSUKIPRO” from now on. Please do take care of them through your continuing support.

Nogami: I believe that the character I voice showed a different side to him that I didn’t even notice, even though he’s one that I voice myself; as a result, I had fun reading the script. We gain more songs, beginning to see new sides to characters that we couldn’t see before and having in mind the expectations of how it will spread from now on. With that too, we have lives which I can’t talk that openly about, but I’ll work with all I can so we can show different sides to the characters we voice when we get the chances. Continuation-wise, our unit was the last one to debut, but it still has different ways it can grow, as opposed to the other units: that makes “QUELL” what it is. With that in mind, I’m sure you can look forward to it. Please continue to take care of us. Have a nice year.

Nakamura: The final episode— the final checkpoint— in the anime that aired in 2017 took place in the Budokan, so I’d like to do a live in the Budokan with these members. Their story will continue on, and I’d also like to gather up together with these members for an anime. This time, Ichiru and Issei might have had a fight, but I’m looking forward to showing more sides of “QUELL” from now on. Just as Nogami said before, as we get more songs, the stronger are my feelings that we’ll be able to do more things, so I’m incredibly excited for it. There’s still more to come. Please take care of both “QUELL” and “TSUKIPRO” in the future. Have a nice year.

Nishiyama: The same as the others. I feel the same.

Everyone: (laughs)

Nishiyama: I think that the characters rarely ever clashed with each other up until now. It’s a good bet that “QUELL” is a unit that still has room for the listeners to imagine [what’ll come next]. I’d like to hear what the people who listen to this CD have to say about it someday, and with that thought in mind, I acted it out. I’d like to add more and more to this story. And so, I’ll look forward to your support from now on as well.

*formal language - Keigo is the language you'd use for more stiff, polite situations. Using it is a sign of respect for the other person's position and, usually, a lack of intimacy. The sign of them having dropped keigo around each other is a sign that they've become close enough to be on a casual level of conversation with one another.
